A Welcome Letter from President Kenneth McKinnon

President

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, congregation, and minister of the Westside Unitarian Universalist Church, it is a pleasure to welcome you to our website. The fact that you are visiting our website causes me to conclude that you have some interest in our church. Explore our website and learn more about our church and about Unitarian Universalism. Our website is both for you to get to know us, and to keep our members informed about the church’s activities. To get the best understanding of us and what we believe. I urge you to visit us in person.

Perhaps the best way to briefly tell you who we are is this message that is posted on the wall of one of our religious education classrooms:

“We are Unitarian Universalists. We are the Church of the open mind, the loving heart, and the helping hands. Together we care for our earth, and work for friendship and peace in your world."

We come from many diverse religious backgrounds. We are a people who are proud of what we stand for in our community and who are committed to our mission and ministry. We value religious education for our children and ourselves and want to provide all, adults and children, the chance to learn about religion and give them the opportunity to freely make up their own minds about the mysteries of the spirit and of life.

If a free search into these mysteries appeals to you, please consider our church. We welcome all honest seekers of truth and understanding. I think you will find our church open, warm, welcoming, and caring.

I hope you will visit us soon.

Best Wishes,
Kenneth McKinnon
